These Glowing Balloons Recreate A More Peaceful Berlin Wall

November this year marks the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. In addition to the usual civic ceremonies and the like, this anniversary will be commemorated by an art installation tracing the site of wall with lit-up helium balloons.

The project is the work of Berlin artists Christopher and Marc Bauder in collaboration with art studio Whitevoid, and consists of thousands of balloons tracing the 15.3km route of the wall through the city. The installation is titled ‘LICHTGRENZE’ (border of lights), and will go live on November 9, the same night that East and West Germany were essentially reunited. [Whitevoid via Fubiz]
