The Top 100 Billboard Songs Of All Time, Graphed

You might’ve thought that music is one thing that can escape the current ‘big data’ trend of mapping, charting and quantifying everything; but that’s where you’re so, so wrong — at least according to Flowing Data’s Nathan Yau.

He’s put together a series of graphs that try to explain the best songs of all time in elegant black-and-white graphs, obtainable in poster form. The probability of Carly Rae Jepsen getting a call from her neighbour? About 70% in three days, according to Yau.

The 24-inch x 36-inch poster should be available for $US24 late October, for those of you with the requisite wall space/spare cash/culturally well-endowed friends. [Flowing Data via FastCo]
