Reports indicate that NBN Construction in Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia and the ACT has been almost comically slow in the past two months.
How slow? Across all four states, according to the AFR, only 141 existing homes and businesses have been passed since June 30th.
That’s not per state, or per week. That’s the total number since the end of the financial year. In South Australia, only 86 new premises have been passed since the 23rd of March, compared to 952 premises in Victoria over the same period. It appears there may have been some number juggling, as NBN Co technically hit its targets for the period ending June 30th, but it did so largely through construction efforts in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
