CIA Admits It Snooped On US Senate Computers

The CIA just admitted that it “improperly penetrated” Senate Intelligence Committee computers, according to The New York Times. The CIA also apologised to senior committee members.

An internal investigation by the CIA confirmed allegations put forth by Senator Dianne Feinstein back in March. The Times points out that very few details are available about the investigation’s report, but the issue at hand is whether CIA agents had improperly snooped through Intelligence Committee computers looking for an internal report they suspected had leaked out. The sad thing is that this is just the latest example of the CIA overstepping its boundaries. [New York Times]
