Dendy’s Movie Streaming Service Will Probably Have Some Great Titles For Australia

Australia needs more movie streaming services, sure, but what it needs more is services that carry decent film titles. The worst case would be having a flagship service launch with no content! Thankfully, Dendy’s upcoming movie streaming service for Australia will have some great titles from major studio players.

Dendy Cinemas prides itself on bringing great indie cinema to Australian screens, as well as the flagship films on offer from larger studios. Dendy plans to take that film cred into the streaming arena in the next week or so, and now it’s outing the players involved.

ABC Commercial, Beyond Home Entertainment, Entertainment One Australia, Icon, Madman Entertainment, Pinnacle Films, Roadshow, Transmission, and Umbrella Entertainment are all signed on to provide content to the Dendy streaming service.

Compare the offering to what is arguably the most well-stocked movie streaming service in Australia right now — Foxtel’s Presto — and you find that they’re reasonably similar in terms of volume.

The studios currently signed on for Foxtel’s movie service include MGM, NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, Roadshow Films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Hopscotch Entertainment One, ICON, Studiocanal and Transmission Films.

Sure, Dendy might not have the biggest players, but it’s complimentary for those who feel they need a bit of indie film in their content diet too.

We’ll have to wait and see how much Dendy’s streaming service will cost when it launches soon.
