Two New Asus MeMo Pad Tablets Get Australian Price, Release Date

Tired of battery-sucking tablets? Asus is replacing just about every processor in its tablet, laptop and smartphone line-up with Intel Atom and Core i-series chips for better battery life. Two new tablets featuring the Atom chips are now bound for Australia, direct from Computex.

The Asus MeMo Pad 7 was updated at Computex 2014 to include a 1.86GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 7-inch WXGA 1280×800 IPS screen. You’ve got a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and nine hours of battery life.

Asus will bring out the new MeMo Pad 7 in black and white at first, but there are adorable matte blue, yellow and pink versions on the way depending on sales figures.

You’ll be able to pick up the new 16GB MeMo Pad 7 for $229 from JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys.

A more premium 8-inch MeMo Pad model is being planned also, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see that before Christmas.
