This Might Be Adidas’s First Google Fit-Specific Device

Yesterday, Google announced its new Fit platform, designed to keep track of your activity and wellbeing. Now, a series of leaks suggest that Adidas is readying a new smartband — which may just tie in directly with the plans at Mountain View.

Evidence from the FCC, LegalForce and retailer Keller Sports suggests that Adidas is soon to unveil a device known as the miCoach Fit Smart. Looking a bit like a hybrid of the Nike Fuelband and Adidas’s own miCoach Smart Run, it retains some of the features of a fitness-specific smartwatch, but combines them with an LED dot display.

From the rear of the device, it seems that it monitors heart rate, and the FCC report notes that it packs Bluetooth 4.0 LE too. The provisional name of miCoach Fit Smart maybe be a mouthful, but it also chimes with Google’s new platform. Of course, this is all speculative for now — but we can certainly expect a fresh slew of fitness trackers in the coming months. [FCC, Keller Sports, LegalForce via Engadget]
