Keen to save a few bucks on the Surface 2 Pro? Microsoft is finally extending end-of-life discounts to Australian store shelves from tomorrow.
Microsoft Australia is officially lowering the price of the Surface 2 Pro by $100 both in-store and online from tomorrow in the lead-up to the Surface Pro 3 launch.
Microsoft assures us that retailers like Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi will also be rolling out discounts, which may be even cheaper than the official store markdowns.
Despite the fact that it’s technically being cleared out to make way for the new model, Microsoft wants you to know it’s still committed to Surface 2 Pro users.
We’ve talked before about whether the Surface 2 Pro makes for good value in a fairly crowded laptop space. We surmised at the time that it’s probably worth the investment if you’re not interested in getting the Surface Pro 3, and if you can haggle the price down to around $900 with your local gadget retailer. With the price going down even further and retailers eager to clear shelves before new stock hits in late August, you’re more likely to get the price you want if you negotiate.
You still need to keep in mind, however, waiting for a month or two and spending around $50 extra gets you the Surface Pro 3. Financially speaking, that would probably be more sensible.
Head over to the Surface 2 Pro store link tomorrow for the savings.
