Facebook’s Snapchat Competitor, Slingshot, Is Now In Australia

Is Snapchat not snappy enough for you? Is Yo entirely too stupid for you? Want a photo sharing app that works with your Facebook login? Then good news, user: Facebook’s Slingshot app just landed in Australia.

If you’ve never seen Slingshot in action before, it’s basically Snapchat with a few added features. You take shots of yourself, annotate and scribble on it and send it to a friend. Once your friend opens it, the photo — or video — self-destructs.

One point of difference with Facebook is that it won’t allow you to open a friend’s message until you send a photo back to them. And so on and so forth.

Slingshot is part of Mark Zuckerberg’s “unpacking Facebook” initiative to get more and keep more people involved with the social network via the use of different apps.

If you want to get Slingshot for yourself, you can download it “>for iOS or for Android.
