Tinder Will Probably Have Ads Soon

Swipe left. Swipe right. Close ad. Repeat. That’s right: Tinder, everyone’s favourite social dating app, is going to have ads soon according to a new report.

Right now, Tinder doesn’t generate a shred of revenue despite having massive engagement numbers from singles around the world.

Tinder’s owners, IAC, told analysts today that one way to improve revenue from $0 would be to place ads on the service.

The ads, however, probably wouldn’t be the the banner ads you’re used to in other free apps. Instead, Tinder has previously experimented with native advertising, creating fake profiles on the service to advertise shows like The Mindy Project.
