You might think you have a table capable of generating conversation all by its lonesome, but this Pacific Rim-themed monstrosity will blow it away without a fight.
Los Angeles-based games studio Robotoki wanted a conference table with a little more “oomph” than your standard, overly-expensive glass shiny thing. So they tasked Tom Spina Designs to put together something for them, with the end result retaining the glass (and expensive) bit, with the addition of a giant Jaeger hand placed underneath.
You know, just in case your average meeting wasn’t intimidating enough.
The YouTube clip’s description contains some statistics: the table itself comes in at 136kg, as does the completed hand. Along with the glass, it comes in at 408kg total — significantly less than an full-sized Jaeger (obviously), but still darn heavy. It’s 3.7m long and 1.33cm wide.
Sure, I’d love one for my apartment… if I didn’t accidentally kill someone in the process of trying to carry it in and set it up.
