The slabs are made by Danny Giannella and Tammer Hijazi of Brooklyn’s Bower Studios. They come in a variety of five geometric shapes and types of wood, and each has a bit of a split personality: On the business side, the surface is completely plain, ready to be sliced, stabbed, and poked, while the party surface is painted with some simple, strategic colour-blocking that makes for a pleasantly trippy 3D effect.
