Maybe This 1/4 Scale Robocop Figure Is Too Realistic

If the recent RoboCop remake has made you extra nostalgic for the original films, this 1:4-scale figure should provide you with all of the fond memories you need. In fact, with 30 points of articulation, and a face painted with a multi-layer technique that even shows veins beneath the skin, from a distance you might just mistake it for the real thing.

Unfortunately, that also means that up close this thing is a little on the creepy side. Those who demand authenticity in their collectibles will love it, but the rest of us will probably find RoboCop’s dead stare a little unnerving. Thankfully, his face can be swapped out with one of three alternates each with a different expression. (Sombre, less sombre, and a different kind of sombre?)

This figure even includes remote control features like a turning head, authentic sound effects and lines from the movie, and a gun holster that appears to automatically open and close on its own.

And if you’re wondering why this version of RoboCop looks nothing like Peter Weller, it’s because it’s — for some reason — based on the character from RoboCop 3 which starred Robert John Burke instead. So if you’re one of the three people who didn’t mind that second sequel, you might be able to justify dropping $1000 on this collectible. Myself? I’d buy that for a dollar.
