And since the carmaker is a sponsor of surfer Garrett McNamara, it teamed up with ad agency BBDO Portugal to design a one-of-a-kind surfboard for him.
There’s no hand-stitched leather trim, but the sleek ‘Silver Arrow of the seas’ does feature an innovative integrated telemetry system that allows Garrett McNamara and his support team to analyse his performance after a run. The board is custom-tailored to McNamara’s riding style, but who knows, maybe one day Mercedes-Benz might make a roof rack and surfboard an optional feature on its vehicles? [SurfTotal via designboom]
