This is some Jedi-level Star Wars tribute art: The Corsucant Tapestry is 9m of cross-stitchery chronicling every character, plot point and detail from Episodes One through Six, framed with quotes in freaking Aurebesh. The Force is strong with Aled Lewis.
The London-based designer and illustrator enlisted the help of pals who were up for learning to stitch and get handsy with the piece and, from the process shots on his Flickr page, it looks like they had a lot of fun.
Now, the sci-fi play on the Bayeux Tapestry is being exhibited as part of Lewis’s Much Pixels show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles (well worth a click through to see some of the other great stuff he’s made). And, hey, for a cool $US20,000 the epic textile scroll can be yours.
