Toshiba Crams Five Computers In Its Shape-Shifting Concept PC

Toshiba Crams Five Computers In Its Shape-Shifting Concept PC

It’s a concept, but it’s a super fun one. Toshiba’s shape-shifting concept 5-in-1 PC somehow manages to be a laptop, a tablet, a convertible tablet, a canvas and a presentation TV-type device. A few of those five might be redundant (and/or useless), but it’s pretty freaking sweet to see one computer try to be everything you want it to be.

At this point, Toshiba isn’t confirming anything about the computer. On the show floor at CES, the concept shape shifter was behind glass and Toshiba reps wouldn’t confirm what its guts were. The laptop mode and tablet mode and convertible tablet mode are pretty self explanatory, so that covers two. The presentation/TV mode allows you to “rotate the base and detach from the keyboard” to give a screen that’s good for sharing and a canvas mode which is done via flipping the base 270 degrees and using a stylus for drafting and editing.

Who knows if this thing will be good (or if it even becomes real) but who doesn’t want a computer that can do it all?
