I love the work of photographer George Christakis. He creates fantastic images, composing photographs into impossible landscapes that sometimes feel entirely possible and others make you feel as the lone survivor of a dream that has collapsed.
In his own words:
I had scenes of people, lonely at strange environments, looking for peace, enjoying a view, or experience strange situations, without evidence of other persons. It’s more like dream you have. You can explain it to others, but you can’t share it, you have no evidence. At the end, you are the only one, who knows what you’d actually saw.
George Christakis is a 25 years old “image maker” as he defines himself. He was born on the mediterranean island of Crete, Greece studied Public Administration, at Panteion University of Athens, and started editing pictures during his studies: “I always had some kind of different scenes in my mind that I couldn’t personally make with just a shot with my camera. Soon I’ve decided to spend as much time as possible to learn how can I bring such scenes onto my monitor.” His first pictures were black and white, later on he tried to work with colours: “I like working with coloured pictures, but I suffer from partial colour blindness, so many times I don’t trust my eyes.”
