Go Inside Damon Albarn’s Head In His First Solo Music Video

Damon Albarn’s been making music now for decades (!), but today the Blur, Gorillaz, and The Good, The Bad, and The Queen frontman released the lead single from Everyday Robots, his very first solo LP. The video for the song was directed by artist and designer Aitor Throup, and offers a digitised glimpse at what’s happening behind the Albarn’s handsome face (swoon).

The concept is cool. “I was really interested in the idea of how the challenge of living with technology has turned us into repeats of the same,” Throup explains on his site. “It’s a sort of individual statement on the loss of individuality through technology, done in a way that at the same time not only embraces it, but is dependent on it.”

I wish the visuals looked as rich and haunting and deep as the song sounds. Or am I just jaded? Is this awesome? Whaddya think? [A.V. Club]
