American Express Now Works In iOS Passbook For Australia

Passbook for iOS is a great way to store all your loyalty cards, boarding passes and payment cards. At least that’s the pitch from Apple; the reality is a little different in Australia where it takes about 100 years for card standards to evolve. Australia took one step closer to the future of payments this month with the news that American Express now has Passbook integration that works Down Under.

It’s called American Express Pass, and it’s pretty simple to install.

You’ll obviously have to be an Amex customer for this to work. Head over here in the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPod Touch, register for the Pass and then add the Pass to your Passbook.

Amex tells us that the Pass will give you instant access to your account details from your iOS device, push notifications for your card transactions and real-time balances.
