Do you like Iron Man? Got $US2,000 lying around? You’re in luck, my friend, because the Iron Man Factory is open for business, and they’re selling the best Iron Man suits we’ve ever seen. The only problem is you’ll have to wait, oh, about a year to get yours.
Iron Man Factory is now taking pre-orders for mass produced, seemingly cinema-ready Iron Man III suits. However, 5,000 people will have to order the $US2,000 suit before they’ll even start the eight-month-long manufacturing process. If you’re patient, though, that will buy you a carbon fibre reinforced polymer suit with metal joints, cushioned interior, and a touch-activated helmet complete with “intelligent” LED lighting system. There are even thrusters that pop out of the back. The suit will only fit people between 5’5″ and 6’1″. If that’s too much suit for you, you can pre-order the helmet only, for just $US1,800.
Don’t want to wait? Iron Man Factory will actually 3D-print a suit for you right away for just $US35,000. Who cares if you were saving that money for a car. You can just pick up chicks in your badass Iron Man suit! (Actually, no, you probably can’t.) [Engadget]
