Honourable Mentions

• Olympus OM-D EM-1

Editor’s Pick

Olympus PEN E-P5

I don’t own a bespoke camera for taking photos anymore, but if I were to shell out my hard-earned for another do-anything, go-anywhere camera again, it’d be the PEN E-P5 from Olympus.

It isn’t the top-of-the-line camera like the Olympus OM-D EM-1 is, for example, nor is it something insane and full-frame like the Sony A7, but it has a depth of field which can’t be ignored when paired with Olympus’ first Pro series lens that we reviewed it with. Gorgeous.

The images are fantastic, the design is spot-on and the glass is incredible. All that adds up to a brilliant camera from Olympus.

Honourable Mention
Sony A7
It’s the best of every possible world: a compact, interchangeable-lens, full-frame DSLR for sub-$2000. It could do with a few more first-party lenses, but all in all, it’s more than worthy of an honourable mention.
