Someone Has Been Attacking The Battlefield 4 Servers

Having trouble joining the fight in Battlefield 4 over the weekend? Might be because DICE’s servers are a virtual battlefield of their own right now.

Kotaku reports that DICE is currently getting slammed by a Distributed Denial Of Service (DDoS) attack, which is preventing PC gamers from logging on and shooting each other in their proverbial faces.

For those unfamiliar with a DDoS, it’s basically when someone maliciously floods the servers with requests to the point of breaking. Imagine 5000 people all walking into the middle of a four-way intersection and you’re there: traffic can’t get through.

DICE has since apologised, and said it’s working on it. Go watch that pretty gameplay video abve in the meantime. [Kotaku]
