A Map Of Where All Your Favourite Horror Movies Take Place

The monster in a horror movie is scary, sure. But an eerie setting is just as important. Fortunately just about anywhere can be freaky as hell when you’re alone in the dark, but some places get more horror movie love than others. And this great map by the folks at Esri shows you the horrible hotspots.

You’ll notice that London had a horror explosion in the 60s, the east coast of the US played host to a bunch of monsters in the 70s, and Japan dominated the 2000s. It’s interesting to see what the spread is, but there’s just one big place missing: space. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go watch Jason X. [Ersi via CNET]
