Fires continue to burn out of control all over New South Wales, and as exhausted crews battle to get the blazes under control, helicopters attack the front from the air. One RFS volunteer decided to get a better look at the blaze and the following devastation with a drone-mounted camera.
Using a quadcopter and a steady hand, this video presents us with horrifying destruction of fire-torn buildings in the Lithgow area, as well as a detailed look at several different fire-fronts from the air.
Update: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority have issued stern warnings to this and other drone pilots operating in bushfire areas. Read the full story.
It’s still a great idea to donate to the RFS if you can. They need our help.
