News Anchor Mistakes Stack Of Paper For iPad During Entire Broadcast

Have you had the sneaking suspicious recently that your iPad has quadrupled in size? Do you find yourself frustrated by a perpetually frozen screen? Good news! It’s because you’re holding printer paper. But no need to be embarrassed; it happens to the best of us — just ask our avant-garde newscaster friend from the other side of the pond.

Apparently, while filming a live piece for the BBC, reporter Simon McCoy reached for his purely-for-prop iPad and accidentally came away with a big ol’ stack of A4 printer paper. Which he then held. For the entire report. A BBC representative had this to say The Guardian:

This morning as Simon McCoy was preparing to introduce this story, instead of picking up his tablet to hold as he went to air, he mistakenly picked up a ream of paper that was sitting next to it. In the rush of live news, he didn’t have an opportunity to swap the items, so simply went with it.

While it’s hard to imagine how someone (even if they’re not looking) wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from weight alone, his straight face throughout the entire piece is commendable — still highly bizarre, but commendable. [The Guardian]
