Watch The SpaceX Grasshopper Execute The Perfect Take Off, Hover And Landing

Dear Russia: this is how you do it.

Elon Musk and his pet SpaceX project have been working on the goal of reusable rockets for some time now in a bid to make space travel more economical and ecological.

There have been a bevy of tests on the Grasshoper craft over the years, but this is the first with incredible new sensors that allow the rocket to take off to over 1000 feet, hover for a moment before gently coming back down to Earth, kissing the ground with pinpoint accuracy.

What’s even cooler is how this video was shot: by a camera attached to a hexacopter flying above the launch site. Can we just make that the standard for shooting launches from now on?
