Even geniuses have to put in some time punching the clock. Look no further than Albert Einstein himself, master of not only space-time but also — during a brief stint as a 9-to5er — of time cards.

Back in the ’40s, Einstein put in some hours working part-time for the US Navy, developing “underwater weapons”, and Retronaut dug up the proof from the National Archives. Apparently the gig didn’t keep his attention though; he only spent a year there.

But the real takeaway is thank god we don’t have to use timecards anymore, right? It looks like it would take a genius to figure out what’s going on on those things.
