Crowsflight For iOS: Enjoy Wandering Without Ever Getting Lost

Asking for directions is a sign of weakness. Everyone knows that. Still, that’s not necessarily to say that you should solely rely on the sun and your wildly unfounded gut instincts. Crowsflight for iOS gives you a middle ground.

What Does It Do?

Uses your phone’s compass as well as GPS location data to point you in the right direction. Simply put in your desired destination. It will let you know the general direction you should be headed, leaving you free from other, more hand-holding maps’ rules and shame.

Why Do We Like It?

Admittedly, if you need to get somewhere in a hurry, you probably don’t want to be busting this out. The potential for wrong turns and accidental scenic routes are many, and if you’ve got a schedule to keep, those happy accidents aren’t always ideal. But if you have time to kill or simply want to spend time exploring, this is perfect for making sure you’re still heading in the general direction of where you need to go while giving you the freedom to stumble across people and things you might never have found otherwise. So if you’re taking a trip to a foreign city, this just might end up being your best friend. But in the end, it’s a supplement to your normal maps app, not a replacement.
