The Federal Budget Explained In Three Minutes

I had every intention of watching the Treasurer’s 2013-14 Budget Speech, but I have to admit that took a nap when I got in last night and missed all of it. Thankfully, there’s this little helper that Labor has made in the vein of our favourite science explainers to lay out what the new Budget means for Australia.

It’s a three-and-a-half minute video that looks at the major spending in this year’s Budget. The highlights are the National Disability Insurance Scheme, increased roads spending and increased education spending. There’s no mention of the National Broadband Network, in case you were wondering.

There’s no mention of the billion-dollar deficit we’ll be in for the next few years, either. This is a Labor-produced video, after all.

Either way, if you need the Budget explained to you quickly and concisely, there’s nothing better than a clever YouTube video to do it.
