On April 25, photographer Tamas Ladanyi took consecutive exposures of the first partial lunar eclipse of the year. Shooting from Tihany, Hungary near Lake Balaton, Ladanyi captured the 27-minute solar event, and it’s beautiful
It looks like a giant Lunar-sized game of Angry Birds or a planet-shaped ‘cut-here’ indicator. Either way, it’s gorgeous and I want to see it for myself.
The next partial lunar eclipse will take place from May 9 to 10 and will be visible from Northern Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. [Tamas Ladanyi via NASA]
