New iPad Apps: Status Board, Mail Pilot, And More

Productivity don't come cheap — at least this week. Apps hitting costs in the double digits are practically unheard of, but this week saw not one but two apps offering to make your life better if you're willing to cough up the cash. The choice is up to you.

Status Board: Information-hungry iPad users are in luck with Panic's newest release: Status Board, a customised, at-a-glance display of more tidbits than you could possibly consume. $10

JR: Street artist JR may try to keep his identity semi-anonymous, but that hasn't stopped him from giving talks and interviews, creating a web presence, and becoming the 2011 TED Talk prize winner. So clearly, connecting with his audience takes precedence — this is where his new app for iPad comes in. A collection of JR's entire body of work. You'll be taken through Paris, Israel, Kenya, and Brazil as you jump around from projects laid out on a world map, all from the comfort of your own home. Free

Mail Pilot: Mail Pilot — dreamed up pre-Mailbox — has officially made its way out of the Kickstarter ether and into the App Store. Though while it and Mailbox operate very similarly, Mail Pilot does get some bonus points for the fact that it communicates with your own mail servers, not a third-party's. It's also more to-do list oriented, allowing you to create specific sets of emails in a way that Mailbox doesn't. $15
