So It’s Come To This: Bulletproof School Uniforms

Tragedies like the events that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School have certainly given parents reasons to worry about their children’s safety. But is this really necessary? A Colombian company claims to have created a line of kid’s clothing and school uniforms made from the same fabrics and technology found in bulletproof vests.

The company’s founder, Miguel Caballero, even demonstrates how durable the casual looking clothing is using a real pistol. Although, given the lack of recoil on the target and his jacket, in all likelihood the gun was actually firing a blank round. Nevertheless, having to dress your kids in the morning like they’re heading into a warzone is a scary prospect. And, hopefully, ultimately, not the world we’re headed for. [YouTube via TechEBlog]
