A Quick Look At Google Play’s Android Overhaul

Today, Google started rolling out a beautiful redesign of the Google Play Android app. The new app isn’t just a dark-to-light transition — it’s now faster and easier to use.

The new Google Play app brings improved navigation and more space for real content. On the app’s home screen, the navigation tiles have been made smaller and clumped together so that now you see more good stuff before you scroll. Less clutter, less BS. When you navigate to the individual subsections — as in the apps homepage above — you can now see more of the categories across the top for easier browsing.

Google also added a streamlined purchasing process that asks for confirmation in a pop-up dialog rather than on a separate page.
