Twitter is just a part of everyday life for a lot of us, but someone actually had to think of it. In an upcoming interview on this week's 60 Minutes in the US, Twitter co-founder and Square CEO Jack Dorsey sits down to explain exactly how the idea for Twitter came to be.
According to Dorsey, the idea spouted from his childhood fascination with emergency transmissions he would listen to on a police scanner. It was his first introduction to the short, terse bursts of information he'd later replicate with Twitter. Little did he know Twitter would grow up to become a global news network of its own. And also a place for bad jokes.
