Apple Nearly Called The iPhone Something Completely Dumb


What’s in a name? If it’s the iPhone, turns out quite a lot actually. An ex-Apple marketing manager has spilled the beans today about what the iPhone could have been called before it settled on the name we all know today. Here’s what it could have been called.

According to Ken Segall, Apple’s former head of advertising, the iPhone was almost called the “Mobi”, the “Tripod”, the “Telepod” or even the “iPad”.
