If you hang with a tech-minded crew, a high-end DSLR with a giant telephoto lens is definitely an object of lust and envy you’re going to want to show off. And when Canon handed out those telephoto lens thermoses at the Olympics a few years ago, of course photographers and gadget aficionados went nuts over them. But enough is enough.
There was so much demand for those Canon thermos that the company eventually decided to sell them to the public. And since then there have been countless knock-offs that photography enthusiasts have happily snatched up. But then things started to get out of control. Thermoses were followed by mugs and shot glasses, and then someone decided a telephoto lens car vacuum was in order, and now Brando wants you to drop $US25 on a stupid USB-powered lens-shaped humidifier.
Unless you’re a professional photographer with a penchant for covering your desk in novelty camera crap, no one needs one of these. If you’re suffering from dry skin, find yourself some moisturiser or whatever it takes to let the world know we’ve had our fill of all this lens-themed crap. [Brando via The Red Ferret Journal]
