You can get Legos in all the colours of the rainbow — even solid gold bricks to really flash up your creations. But wooden pieces? Unfortunately, the Danish aren’t having any part of that; you’ll need to turn to the Japanese designers at Mokurokku for these beautiful knock-offs.
Instead of glossy plastic, their bricks are made from actual woods like maple and birch and are precisely crafted to play nicely with your existing mountains of Lego. At $US32 for a sack of 50 they’re actually not outrageously expensive either, and if you ever reach the point where you feel you’ve outgrown building toys, they’ll probably make for fantastic kindling as well.
