What Happened With The NBN This Week?

The National Broadband Network continues its slow invasion of Australia’s cities as it arrives in Sydney, but what will it take to get fast broadband to the whole country? Is the National Broadband Network Company (NBN Co) vandalising the equipment of other companies during the roll-out?

NBN Co has been accused by a company called OptiComm of not only using its ducts to get fibre to new housing developments, but NBN Co contractors have also been accused of damaging fibre tunnels and trespassing.

Meanwhile, amidst the allegations, the NBN is expanding in Sydney.

NBN Co has finally started connecting the city of Sydney, starting with Blacktown in the city’s West. By mid-2013 NBN Co projects it will be connecting swathes of homes and businesses to the network.
