Robots Can Ride Bikes Now, Be Afraid

We spotted this little guy on the floor of CES and immediately were reminded that robots are bound to kill off humanity one day.

Sure it looks harmless right now — riding its little bike while balancing perfectly — but wait until the horrifying near-future where it’s wielding rocket launchers, machine guns and a taste for human flesh.

Drama aside, this isn’t actually a robot you can buy right now. No, instead this is a tech demo from the guys and girls at technology component company muRata.

It uses a series of gyroscopes to keep itself upright and actuators to move the legs back and forth on the bike. It knows where to go thanks to a wand that the controller moves back and forth.

Nifty, yet terrifying.
