The calm before the hybrid/laptop/ultrabook/convertible storm that is CES 2013 is slowly eroding. MSI wants to get its announcement in before the rain of gadgets starts to fall by announcing a convertible ultrabook called the Slider S20. Looking at the specs, it’s actually quite reasonable.
The Slider S20 is a touchscreen convertible ultrabook that measures under an inch thick when closed and weighs just under a kilo (997 grams). It was first debuted at last year’s Computex show.
Despite the tiny footprint, however, it still manages to pack in an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. The S20 is also loaded with obligatory Wi-Fi, Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth and an HDMI-out for connecting to a larger display.
All this is going to be pretty fair on your hip pocket, too, ringing up at $1199.99. It’s going to be on display at CES 2013 but there’s no word yet on Australian availability.
