World's Biggest Indoor Ski Park Sets New Precedent For Overkill

At over 22,000 square metres Ski Dubai is currently the largest indoor skiing facility in the world. But a Danish architectural firm believes that record should belong to Denmark, and so has designed and proposed an indoor ski facility for the city of Randers that will safely snatch the title of world's biggest from Dubai.

But just how big will the proposed Skidome be? The entire facility, shaped like the world's largest snowflake, will be just over 100,000 square metres in size, with over 70,000 square metres being dedicated to 3km of indoor and outdoor slopes. In fact, there will be a total of eight slopes in all of varying levels of difficulty, with six of them being located indoors and usable all year round.

Unfortunately there are no concrete plans to build the Skidome just yet. It will certainly do wonders for the city's tourist trade, but such a massive building project will require a substantial amount of funding. And let's be honest here, with three massive arches comprising the structure, this is a golden McDonald's sponsorship opportunity. [Skidome via Gizmag]
