US Department Store Embeds Video Screen In Sweaters

If you thought you had seen the worst of tacky Christmas clothing, American department store Macy’s and Sean John want you to know you ain’t seen nothing yet. The two have teamed up to create this monstrosity, which by itself isn’t actually so terrible. Until you notice the embedded OLED display on the sleeve letting you play videos or run slideshows.

The display on the Fashion Video Name Tag, as this sweater is known, comes from a company called Recom Group and unsurprisingly has a resolution of just 320×240, 2GB of storage and a 2.8-inch display. On a full charge it can run continuously for up to 10 hours, and while pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, it probably won’t be cheap when it goes on sale at select Macy’s stores across the United States this week. Especially considering the price you pay in dignity. [Macy’s Blog via Slashgear]
