At first glance, this beautiful espresso maker fromCB Industries looks like a proposed NASA spacecraft design from the mid-1950s. But instead of dropping astronauts on the moon, it’s only designed to drip coffee into a cup, while looking sleek in the process.
Polished stainless steel lets the Jules’ spherical body and pointy legs shine (and collect untold amounts of fingerprints) and beneath its highly reflective dome you’ll find a 1.4-litre water reservoir and other mechanical bits that let it serve up a hot cup of joe. And the other obvious clue that this wasn’t produced by NASA? Its $US1400 price tag, which puts it well beyond the agency’s current budget constraints.
