Today Facebook is adding a couple of new settings for messages to make sure you see the ones you need to see. And it’s also testing a system where you pay a buck to ensure someone reads your note. Ugh, hopefully that test fails.
There are two new options for messages. First is basic filtering. With that you get the messages written by your friends and people you might know. The more stringent option is strict filtering, which only lets messages from your friends get through the gate.
With these filters you can get messages you might have missed before like one from someone using Messenger for Android, or another where you’re included in a thread with people you might not know. And finally, you’ll get notes that are sent to that @facebook.com address you didn’t ask for. New filters are good, but Facebook Messages just kind of suck in general.
