Dumb Prisoner Gets Stuck In His Own Wall Hole Trying To Escape

Four inmates tried to escape through a hole made on their cell’s wall using a metal pipe from the prison’s shower. Unfortunately for them, they were as smart as a crate of bricks: the hole was too small and the second prisoner got stuck. Incapable of moving in or out, the police caught him in the act.

The act of screaming for his life, apparently. According to Brazilian newspaper Jornal Populacional (in Portuguese), after badly injuring himself trying to pass through the hole repeatedly, the prisoner realised it was impossible and he began to scream and cry for help. At that moment, the guards came in and discovered the surrealist scene.

They had to call the fire department to free the prisoner. The first prisoner escaped successfully, going over a 5m perimeter wall and an electrified fence. The prison was brand new, according to the paper, and this was the day previous to its official inauguration.

The paper says that the hole has been fixed. The worker who rebuild the wall, a man named Dorival Rodrigues, was very surprised about the circumstances, claiming that he “found it weird because it was too easy” for using such a rudimentary tool.

According to prison officials (in Portuguese) , the convict escaped again last year and was captured on the same day. I hope he tries again. Third is a charm and all that. [Jornal Populacional]

[clear] Here’s a view of a fireman freeing the man from his own trap. He was too strong to go through, according to the witnesses.

[clear] This is the metal pipe used for digging the hole.

[clear] You can tell the guards are half embarrassed, half laughing, and one hundred per cent surprised.
