When the iPad first came out, it was derided by some as a giant iPhone that couldn’t make calls. Yet, it went on to sell many, many units and make a tidy profit for Apple. Now, we have several models of the device, including the recently released iPad Mini. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t take a look at Apple’s design choices over the years and with the benefit of hindsight, watch the evolution of its philosophy.
Of course, because this retrospective comes to us courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel, it can’t help but poke fun at the consumer electronics giant. Who knows, maybe some Apple folk will watch the video and gain some insight it can channel into its future products. More likely, they’ll have a chuckle and move on with their lives.
