Cool Dad Built This Handmade DJ Controller For His Son’s Birthday

At first glance, it looks like a very cute, albeit button-crazy arcade stick for a console. In actual fact it’s a DJ controller, designed to be used with DJ software on a desktop machine to create mad tunes or some such.

Inside the controller is a Teensy 2.0 CPU on a custom-etched PCB, while connectivity is handled by USB. It even comes with it’s own user-friendly software to program the firmware. The yellow paint job is a $US40 powder coating, but the professional sheen it imparts makes all the difference.

Oh and there’s a neat vinyl decal, which you can see in the photos below. Don’t you wish your dad was this cool?
