Motorola Quietly Kills Off Webtop

Motorla has quietly killed of its vaguely ridiculous Webtop concept, a line of software and hardware that allowed a handset to power a lightweight laptop. Sadly, nobody bought one.

The concept was first launched at CES in 2011 alongside the Atrix 4G and claimed to offer a “full PC experience” on a slim device powered only by a phone. It was kind of a vaguely interesting idea, but it was incredibly expensive and offered limited functionality, so it didn’t sell at all well. Now, it will never sell again. [CNET]
