LG’s Massive 4k TV Costs Less Than Sony’s (But Still More Than A Car)

Sony’s gorgeous 84-inch 4k TV costs an eye-watering $US25,000. Now LG has announced the price of its contender and it’s cheaper — but you could still buy a car for less.

LG’s slick, mega-high-res 84-inch 4k TV will retail at a whopping $US20,000 when it goes on sale. That’s a saving of $US5,000 over the Sony equivalent — think of what you can do with that spare $US5000! — but it’s still a sickening amount of money to spend on a TV.

Realistically, it’s going to be a long time before big-name brands make a 4k TV cheap enough to appear in your living room. How about a cheap Chinese one in the meantime? [LG]
