A scandal went down this week on the Gold Coast involving NBN Co executives and the Mayor of the Gold Coast City Council, when a run-of-the-mill briefing turned sour. What went down?
According to Gold Coast News, NBN Co executives flew from Sydney to the Gold Coast to brief Mayor Tom Tate on the roll-out plans for the area. The executives, reportedly under the invitation of Mayor Tate were allegedly only given eight minutes before he interrupted them, got up and walked out, reportedly to attend National Kindness Day celebrations. Riiiiiight.
In more weird news for the week, Mike Quigley is selling his house in Mosman.
Meanwhile, Shadow Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull is still calling for the review of the Huawei NBN ban, something that's baffling Independent MP Rob Oakeshott who wants the country to know what the Coalition does about the company that requires the ban to be revisited.
